Parenting
In our program we help participants develop parenting skills and assess values related to family issues and relationships. Clients confront their parenting skills and habits, perform a clarification on their values regarding family, and establish appropriate discipline routines. We tackle issues modern parents face: technology issues, understanding temperament, intellectual development, communicating with kids of all ages, the dynamics of discipline, instilling self-esteem, teaching children values, meeting their needs, being a good role model, and more!
The parenting workbook we use, Correctional Counseling, Inc's Parenting and Family Values, is appropriate for all parents. It is used in many settings, including behavioral health programs, substance use disorder programs, and criminal justice settings.
Participants complete homework each week from the 12-module parenting workbook prior to attending group. During group sessions, participants share their responses. The parenting workbook is designed for a minimum 12 group sessions in this self-paced program.
